Formula to Convert Cups to Gallons.
To convert c to gallons, we do need to know how they relate to each other.
We say that 1 US cup is equivalent to 0.0625 US gallons.
Therefore, to convert c to gal, we multiply the c by 0.0625 or divide the cups by 16.
Capacity in gal = Capacity in C x 0.0625
Example 1:
Convert 80C to gallons.
= 80 x 0.0625
= 5 gallons.
Example 2;
Convert 6c of milk to gallons.
1 US cup is equivalent to 0.0625 US gallons
= 6 x 0.0625
= 0.375 gal
Example 3:
Convert 0.25 cups to gal.
= 0.25 x 0.0625
= 0.015625 gallons.
