Quarts are units of capacity.
There are three kinds of quarts currently used: the liquid quart and dry quart of the US customary system and the imperial quart of the British imperial system. All are roughly equal to one liter.
A pint(pt) is also a unit of liquid or dry capacity equal to one eighth of a gallon.
Formula to convert pt to qt.
To convert pt to qt, we need to know the conversion factor.
We know that 1 US liquid pint is equivalent to 0.5 US liquid quarts.
Therefore, to convert US liquid pt to US liquid qt we multiply the pints by 0.5 or simply divide them by 2.
Capacity in qt = Capacity in pt x 0.5
Example:
Convert 50 pints to quarts.
= 50 x 0.5
= 25 US liquid quarts.
